About the Prairie Circuit Finals Rodeo
The Prairie Circuit Finals Rodeo (PCFR) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit premier PRCA and WPRA championship event, marking as the year-end championship for circuit qualifiers. This event showcases the season’s best PRCA and WPRA athletes in a high-energy event that captures the spirit of the American heartland. The qualified athletes will compete in 9 standard rodeo disciplines, providing unique family-friendly entertainment celebrating western heritage, athletic skill, and community spirit.
About the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) Circuit System
Established in 1975, the PRCA Circuit System divides the U.S. into 12 geographic regions, enabling professional rodeo athletes to compete locally year-round and earn circuit standing. This structure allows competitors to qualify for high-stakes championships while staying closer to home rather than pursuing national recognition.
Athletes designate one home circuit, where earnings count toward circuit standing. Circuit earnings determine year end leaders; all earnings contribute to overall PRCA world standings. Top 12 qualifiers per event advance to their Circuit Finals Rodeo, typically held in fall or winter. Year-end champions and Circuit Finals winners compete at the NFR Open in Colorado Springs, with over $1 million in payout.
